Ellen and I did some exploring. First we went up to check out the move of the Gay Head Lighthouse.

We then headed down to Philbin Beach. We were able to park in the local parking lot, reserved for residents. Heady stuff! Especially if you are driving a car befitting a local (well over 100k miles, and parking stickers from multiple years).
The walk to the beach was interesting, as walking up sand dunes involves many steps, but not much progress. Eventually we crested the dune and headed down to the beach.
